services. The key difference is the use of digital technology and the ability to be stored, presented, and
distributed over telecommunications networks.



Examples of new media include social media platforms, streaming services, blogs, podcasts, and
interactive media like mobile apps and virtual reality. These technologies are characterized by their use of
digital, internet-based technology and often allow for user-generated content and two-way communication.



Cross-cultural studies are research methods used in social sciences, like anthropology and psychology, to
compare and contrast human behavior across different cultures. These studies analyze a wide range of
data, often using large samples to perform statistical analysis on cultural traits, and aim to understand how
culture impacts behavior, emotion, and social development, while also acknowledging that cultures are
dynamic and influenced by global trends. The goal is to test hypotheses about human behavior and
develop a broader, more informed understanding of a global community.



These studies compare populations in different cultures to understand differences and similarities in
