APHA Conference 2018


On October 27, 2018, the 2018 annual conference was held in Washington DC.  The conference was chaired by Dr. Alicia Campi, President of APHA and a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University.


Offering the keynote address was Hon. Yondon Otgonbayar, Ambassador of Mongolia to the United States. The Mongolian Ambassador, a highly published researcher on Mongolia in the last century spoke on the topic “Mongolia and the Asia-Pacific Region.”During the conference, Ms. Akiko Kawaii presented a paper on the role of tea in the relationship among Japan, China and Kora. She performed a Japanese Tea Ceremony after his paper presentation. At the end of the conference,  a lovely reception and dinner was held at the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington DC. Papers presented to the APHA conference will be edited and be published in 2019 on The Journal of Asian Politics & History (JAPH).
